Although some programs are billed as “for men only,” there are really very few differences between sports-specific and/or gender-specific Pilates and any standard Pilates practice. Pilates is designed to be a well-rounded system of exercise that targets all ranges of motion, strengthens the core, and stabilizes the periphery, especially at the joints.
We may incorporate a specific exercise that mimics a move in your target sport more often. We may use a specific starting position that allows for the proper motion in your broader shoulders or tighter hamstrings. But, overall, the Pilates system of exercise already covers all the bases.
